A chilly start to the new year for three EWBers!

Happy New Year!

To start 2010 off with a bang, three of our personal fundraisers celebrate their World of Opportunity campaign success with a chilly dip into Vancouver’s English Bay!

Harish Raisinghani, Michelle Nicholson and Kyle Robertson all committed to jump into the freezing water as way to entice their friends and family to donate to their campaigns. And it worked! All three have come incredibly close to reaching their goals – which means that today they will spend a very brave few minutes in the water!

Members of the Vancouver Professional Chapters spent an allocated amount of time in the frigid waters for each dollar they fundraised.

Together they raised over $ 5,000 for EWB through the World of Opportunity campaign. Like so many other EWBers over the last six weeks, they worked incredibly hard to ensure that we can expand our overseas programming in 2010.

The World of Opportunity has been the driving force behind EWB’s ability to impact hundreds of remote African communities in the coming year. The funds raised from the campaign will make certain that our volunteers can help rural families to earn a lasting income, access clean drinking water, and have roads and schools.

With a creative flair, Harish, Michelle and Kyle committed to helping EWB make this possible in 2010! Today we wanted to thank them – along with the over 570 other EWBers – who helped us raise over $ 258,000 through the World of Opportunity campaign.

Thank you for making this year’s World of Opportunity campaign a success! The support of our donors, campaigners, and the EWB network has ensured that we can positively impact thousands of rural Africans.
