It's National Engineering Month!
1 March, 2010 @ 17:49

Students at the EWB-UofT Chapter hung a banner on the University of Toronto's Engineering Building, launching their Global Engineer Campaign in 2009.
This week is National Engineering Month, and Ontario is celebrating in a big way all across the province from February 27 – March 7. More than 100 events will take place, offering a unique opportunity to experience first-hand the importance of the Canadian engineering sector to our daily lives.

EWB has long recognized that Canadian engineers have a unique skill set enabling them to tackle even the most complex issues – and extreme poverty is no exception. In fact, ten years ago EWB was founded on this belief.
This week, we are promoting the contributions that engineers can make to serve the world – from developing innovative technology to addressing difficult global issues through analytical and practical solutions characteristic exclusively of engineers.
EWB will use National Engineering Month as a platform to engage Canadians with global issues, March 4 – 6. Over three exciting days, our chapter members all across the country will be encouraging Canadians to take positive actions to improve the world around them. Actions such as purchasing Fair Trade – or advocating our government to improve Canadian aid effectiveness.
We are using this National Engineering Month to continue fostering a Canadian engineering sector that is both defined by what it builds, and what positive change it creates for the world.
