EWB Members
With 35,000 members committed to human development, EWB is reaching more people than ever before. These professional engineers, university students, professors, high school teachers, business leaders, and members of the general public form an integral part of our organisation—last year alone they spoke to 200,000 Canadians about the urgent need for development. Whether they are facilitating workshops about global water issues in a Canadian high school classroom or working on a rural energy project in Ghana, EWB members everywhere are playing an important role in the promotion of human development.
Professional Members
EWB professional members are a passionate group involved in the organisation in various capacities. Some run workplace campaigns, raising awareness about development among their co-workers; others join their local chapter; many debate and discuss international development issues on myEWB.ca; some hold fundraising events in support of our activities; and a small group, volunteer overseas.
Student Members
A majority of our student members are directly involved in EWB through their university chapter. Student members promote human development through participating in chapter workshops about issues pertinent to international development, running workshops in high school classrooms, challenging the public to commit to reducing global poverty, volunteering overseas, and enhancing the engineering curriculum to incorporate development topics.
